VASS is built on a foundation of engineering expertise, innovation, and a passion for solving complex challenges. My journey began during the Formula Student competitions, where I developed a fully electric race car powered by a YASA motor and a self-built ECU. Over time, I expanded into creating battery management systems, controllers, and integration platforms, laying the groundwork for the wide range of projects I deliver today.
While EV conversions are at the heart of what I do — from Land Rover Defenders and Porsche 911s to supporting projects like Skyfly’s electric aircraft systems — VASS goes beyond electric drivetrains. I also work on custom mechanical and electronic engineering, whether it’s transmission conversions, dashboard integrations, thermal management systems, or interior refinements like bespoke audio and console design.
Alongside customer projects, I invest in personal builds that push innovation further. I am restoring two rare Lada 2101s, with one remaining original and the other being fully electrified as a platform to test VASS in-house developments. These projects allow me to experiment, validate, and refine technologies before applying them to client work.

Land Rover Defender 90
Powered by a Tesla Model 3 motor delivering up to 300bhp, this Defender keeps its legendary toughness with permanent 4WD while gaining the smooth, quiet performance of electric drive.
A dual 83kWh battery pack provides a real-world range of around 160 miles, with 75kW CCS fast charging for quick top-ups on the road and 6.6kW AC charging at home.

1970 MK2/3 Mini
Powered by a Tesla Model S drive unit delivering up to 250bhp, this classic Mini is reborn as a modern city EV while retaining its unmistakable character. Its 35kWh battery pack offers around 140 miles of range, making it perfect for spirited urban driving and short weekend trips.
With front-wheel drive and 6.6kW AC charging, it blends everyday usability with performance far beyond the original — all in a compact package that still turns heads everywhere it goes.
Land Rover Defender 110
This long-wheelbase Defender 110 was reimagined for extended adventures, powered by a 100kWh dual battery pack delivering up to 200 miles of range. A Tesla Model 3 motor (300bhp) provides smooth but powerful acceleration, while permanent 4WD ensures true off-road capability.
Comfort and usability were a focus: cabin A/C, custom Range Rover Velar gear selector, and bespoke reverse-engineered Puma gauges integrate seamlessly. With 19.8kW 3-phase AC charging and active battery cooling, this Defender is built for long-distance touring and rugged terrain alike.
Land Rover Defender 90
This build combines classic Defender toughness with a modern electric heart. Powered by a Tesla Model 3 motor producing up to 300bhp and paired with a 55kWh Felten battery pack, it delivers a practical balance of performance and range.
With permanent 4WD and support for both 50kW CCS fast charging and 6.6kW AC home charging, it’s ready for daily use or weekend adventures. Offering a real-world range of around 100 miles, this Defender is ideal for shorter trips while showcasing the flexibility of EV retrofits.

Porsche 911 Targa EV Support
At VASS, we have the privilege of working on this stunning Porsche 911 Targa EV conversion, helping the owner overcome challenges they faced with their initial build. Our team applies expertise in diagnostics, electrical integration, and system optimisation to refine the car’s performance and reliability.

Defender LT1 V8 Conversions

We have worked on several Land Rover Defender conversions, replacing the original diesel powertrain with the Chevrolet LT1 V8 engine paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

Twisted Defender EV Support
We had the privilege of working on this EV-converted Land Rover Defender by Twisted, after the client came to us with a charging issue. Following a full set of diagnostics, we identified the onboard charger as the root cause.
The unit was sent back to the manufacturer, who confirmed our findings. Once repaired, we reinstalled the system and successfully brought the Defender back to full health. Now, the client can once again enjoy this incredible EV conversion with confidence.
Defender TD5 Transformation
We helped to transform this Land Rover Defender TD5, upgrading it from a manual gearbox to a smooth automatic transmission for improved drivability. As part of the project, we also integrated a full Puma dashboard for a modernised interior and installed a complete air conditioning system, adding comfort to match capability.
This combination of upgrades enhances both daily usability and long-distance touring, proving that classic Defenders can be tailored to meet modern expectations without losing their rugged character.
UAE-Spec Defender EV with Custom Climate Control
This Defender EV conversion is engineered for life in the extreme heat of the UAE, featuring a one-off air conditioning system developed entirely in-house by VASS. Our bespoke controller manages both cabin comfort cooling — seamlessly integrated into the original Puma dashboard with minimal modifications — and active battery thermal management.
The system directs chilled coolant from an A/C-driven heat exchanger to the battery pack, ensuring it remains safe and efficient even in harsh desert conditions. By monitoring all key vehicle parameters in real time, our controller intelligently allocates cooling where it is most needed, optimising efficiency while protecting components.
This project demonstrates our ability to go beyond standard conversions and deliver tailored engineering solutions that meet the demands of unique environments.
Bespoke Interior Engineering
At VASS, we believe the details matter just as much as the drivetrain. For this Defender, we engineered a custom two-row centre console housing an integrated subwoofer, designed to deliver the cleanest, most precise bass possible.
This bespoke solution not only enhances the audio experience but also elevates overall cabin comfort, showing how our work goes beyond performance to create a truly refined driving environment.

TVR Wedge Project with ChargeheadsUK
We are actively working to bring a TVR EV conversion safely back to the road, applying our expertise in electrical systems, diagnostics, and engineering refinement. This project highlights the importance of making sure performance cars not only drive but do so reliably and safely.
